Health and Wellness have been the cornerstones of my lifelong career.

I was fortunate to have fallen in love with fitness in the 80s.   I have spent over three decades helping people with their health journey by leading group fitness classes, personal and group training, and managing successful Health and Wellness departments at large and small facilities.  While my initial focus was on physical fitness, I realized that optimal health cannot be achieved with exercise alone and that nutrition serves as a fundamental element for true and total well-being.   Helping my clients in their pursuit of genuine health and healing through nutrition is at the core of my life’s purpose.

My career as a Clinical Nutrition was born out of a deeply personal experience (more about that later). I discovered the world of functional medicine, rooted in the belief that the body responds negatively to deficiencies and/or toxicities and thrives when toxins are removed and all cells are nurtured and nourished.

Armed with the education and the understanding of the body's intricate balance, I am excited to teach others to overcome their health challenges.

My beliefs:

  • That the body always strives to be well

  • That healthy outside begins on the inside

  • That we must keep asking WHY dysfunction is present until we can’t ask anymore are the guiding principles of my lifestyle as well as my approach when working with each client.

As a licensed clinical nutritionist (LDN), a certified nutrition specialist (CNS), a certified fitness instructor (CFI), a personal trainer (CPT), a Gut and Psychology/Physiology Practitioner (GAPS), a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), and a Precision Nutrition Coach, I am excited to be able to offer my clients a comprehensive “total body” approach to their overall health and healing.

My Story

As a young adult, “living” at the gym, I remember trying to adhere to diets that included calorie counting and removing all fats from my daily meals. In my early 20’s I remember obsessing with eating less, exercising more, and still being unhappy with my weight and overall body image.

I was of the mindset that if I burned more calories than I took in (as long as it was low-fat or fat-free), I was surely going to lose weight. That is what the conventional model teaches us. Unfortunately, that was far from the truth. Restricting and bingeing were a daily occurrence which resulted in me feeling that I lacked self-control and was a failure.

Only after I became preoccupied with having young children, and not having the time to count calories and fat grams, my body was able to stabilize and find a happy place. At that time, I did not know what exactly changed, I just knew that I was no longer obsessed with monitoring all my food intake and being in the gym for countless hours each day.

As a young fitness professional, the thought of someone looking “healthy” on the outside but suffering on the inside, never crossed my mind. I assumed that my “loyal” participants who attended my classes and were not losing weight, were just eating too much. I was sure that my lifelong skin acne and feeling bloated at the end of each day were genetic and a “normal” part of life.

My oldest daughter’s diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and later epilepsy led me on the functional medicine path. Conventional medicine offered limited solutions with the discouraging notion that “nothing can be done”. Determined to find answers, I discovered the world of functional medicine where I quickly learned that what you eat (the actual nutrients in your food), along with other extremely important lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, digestion, detoxification, happiness, etc. are key ingredients to creating and maintaining a healthy body and brain. Getting to the root cause of disease and addressing it through diet and lifestyle that is compatible with health and healing is what Olga’s Nutrition is all about.
